What is the Gardening on the Edge & The Arts Festival?

Gardening on the Edge is a Garden Trail and Garden Market providing an opportunity for locals and visitors to the area to see a number of beautiful gardens at the one time and to attend the Garden Market at the
Indoor Activity Centre at Maleny High School. Something for the serious gardener and those just interested in the beauty of nature.

Generous garden owners make their properties available for the program and they manage the influx of visitors. It is a substantial commitment on the part of the garden owners and the many volunteers needed to stage the event.  The event provides a great opportunity to learn more about gardening and the region in general.

The event is the main fundraiser for the Maleny Garden Club. It has been held each year since 2005
and has raised in excess of $50,000.  The money raised has been distributed to local community organisations.
Gardening on the Edge draws many people to the area.  In 2010, some 1,700 people visited gardens and contributed to business activity on the Range.

The 2013 event will be a garden trail of country gardens open to the public and a garden market with specialist plant and produce stalls, camellia flower display, homemade refreshments and daily raffle prizes at the Maleny High School Hall.

Make a diary entry to enjoy a visit to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and be inspired by our delightful gardens.

Community Organisations

Gardening on the Edge provides an opportunity for community organisations to take advantage of the influx of visitors for their own fund raising activities.  Opportunities are available to provide catering both at the Garden Expo and in gardens.  Organisations are welcome to submit details of other fund raising activities that they would like to undertake.

Sponsorships

We welcome the support of local businesses who recognise the contribution Gardening on the Edge makes to the community at large through donations to local community groups and attracting visitors to the area. A range of sponsorships are available from advertising space on the Maleny Garden Club website to sponsors' banners being displayed at the garden Expo.
